Algae Oil EPA – DHA

Our Algae Oil EPA - DHA is extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp.. Originally, this plant was considered to be a marine fungus, in the meantime, however, it has been taxonomically classified to the Thraustochytriaceae family. It is therefore a microscopic single-cell alga, which is commonly found in most coastal areas in tropical and temperate climates. It feeds off dead plant material and does not photosynthesize. For the production of our Algae Oil EPA - DHA the microalgae are not harvested directly from the see, but rather are cultivated in large containers using nutrient solutions and subsequent fermentation. Our Algae Oil does not impact marine ecosystems or affect the diet of the oceans’ fish.
