Market Report July 2025
Say goodbye to microplastics with jojoba peeling elements
Free-flowing micro wax beads with excellent, gentle exfoliating properties: this is what jojobeads, jojopearls, jojograins and jojoflakes are. They constitute your sustainable, plastic-free alternative for use in exfoliants, shower and skin gels, face masks and shampoos – even for sensitive skin. Read more in our jojoba brochure (p. 9), or feel free to contact us!
Other natural, sustainable product alternatives in our range include, for example, products with an upcycling connection or those with sustainability certifications – from EU Organic and Naturland to MSC for fish oils, ISCC PLUS for soy and many more.
Vegetable oils
In the rapeseed market, following recent price increases due to the conflict in the Middle East and rising crude oil prices, attention is once again turning to the currently almost ideal weather conditions in the EU. Pricing for the new harvest will depend largely on demand from the biodiesel industry. Oil from the old harvest is trading at a significant premium. For sunflower, the forecasts for harvest and oil production are at a normal level, which corresponds to a recovery compared to the weak previous year. Brazil, the world’s largest soybean producer, is harvesting a record crop, more than compensating for losses in the US. Increased demand from the biodiesel industry will keep prices stable. In the EU, a price correction is being prevented by uncertainty over the details of the EU Deforestation Regulation.
Palm RSPO
Oil is trading sideways to weaker. In Indonesia, the largest palm oil producer, stocks are rising against the backdrop of outstanding cover from major buyers and declining mineral oil prices, which result in less palm oil flowing into the fuel sector. In Malaysia, stocks and prices are falling from very high levels. Covering until Q3 is recommended, after which the peak harvest season may bring price corrections.
Palmkernel RSPO
Trading sideways with a tendency to weaken. Demand at source is low. The market can be monitored further, no large long positions should be taken.
Coconut, including Rainforest Alliance-certified grades
Tight supply is currently supporting prices – the supply of raw materials to mills at origin is sluggish, exacerbated by logistical challenges due to heavy rainfall. We recommend short-term covering until the end of Q3/2025. Better harvest figures are in prospect.
Groundnut
A market with little movement. Some origins are still being harvested. As there are remaining stocks, we currently see stable prices. Compared to last year, prices for the front dates are at an attractive level. Shipping delays are still to be expected, as are higher freight rates from some countries. We recommend covering until Q4/2025.
MCT
The market has been stable to slightly weaker in recent weeks. Both palmkernel- and coconut-based qualities are available. In some cases, lead times for imports must be taken into account, or offers on the market are valid until the end of 2025 at the latest. Please contact us for more details about the quality you require.
St. John’s Wort, organic and conventional
Join us in looking forward to fresh produce from our own production in Bremerhaven for cosmetic and pharmaceutical needs! In mid-June, we placed the fresh herb from German cultivation in (organic) olive oil. After six to seven months in our tanks, the oil is ready for you. This video gives you an impression of the harvest and our oil products.
Oleoresins
Capsicum
The Chinese region of Yunnan is becoming increasingly interesting for the purchase of capsicum thanks to its climatic conditions very similar to those in India, the main source of origin. Given the current good availability of raw materials and no expected price fluctuations until the new harvest is available in Europe in Q1/2026, we recommend taking advantage of the favourable conditions to cover your needs until February 2026.
Paprika
A good carry-over is expected for the start of the new season. Prices from Xingjiang, which remains by far the largest growing region, correspond to last season’s starting price with surcharges for storage costs, among other things. We also carry goods from other origins, including Yunnan Province. No fluctuations are currently expected until the new harvest, and demand planning until February 2026 is advisable.
100 years of Henry Lamotte
When our journey began in 1925, the world was a very different place.
And yet – some things never changed: our curiosity, our entrepreneurial spirit, and our belief that trust is the foundation of everything we do.
We’ve grown from a small trading company into an international partner for natural oils and food – shaped by people who care, think ahead and act with purpose.
Our anniversary video is a tribute to everyone who has supported us with their ideas and dedication along the way. And a promise: we’ll keep shaping the future with you.
